The new Strip Assign page simplifies channel management with a modernised interface.

Lawo has released version 10.12 software for its mc² audio production consoles, introducing improvements in channel management, Waves integration, and system security. The update aims to enhance workflow efficiency for audio professionals in broadcast and live production environments.

The new Strip Assign page simplifies channel management with a modernised interface. Users can now assign multiple channels simultaneously, swap channel positions, and customise labels and colours more efficiently. The page provides a visual representation of console banks that matches physical layouts, improving navigation during live and studio operations.

Integration between mc² consoles and Waves systems has been upgraded through the new ProLink protocol, replacing the previous RFC protocol. The update enables automatic label synchronization with Waves SuperRack 14 systems and introduces a one-button access feature for connected Waves Racks, streamlining workflow for sound engineers.

Interface improvements include new visual indicators in the Signal List that display the status of Aliases, Waves, and Loopback connections. These additions help operators monitor signal paths more effectively, particularly in complex setups involving multiple consoles.

The update also strengthens cybersecurity measures in line with EBU R.143 guidelines. New features include enhanced password policies with enforced expiration and complexity requirements, elimination of default passwords, and private/public key authentication options. The system now provides guided procedures for password resets while maintaining security standards.

Lawo’s mc² consoles are manufactured in Rastatt, Germany, and are used in television broadcast, radio, performing arts, and professional audio-visual applications. The company focuses on creating integrated solutions for media production workflows, combining control systems, physical I/O, processing, and user interfaces.

The software update is available now for compatible mc² audio systems. These developments reflect Lawo’s continued emphasis on improving operational efficiency and security in professional audio environments while maintaining flexibility for various production scenarios.
